Area = Horley, Surrey
Total = £13,800 – Including bathroom products, tiles, labour, building materials, 4 lights & fan and full re-plastering to a painted finish. This figure does not include the boiler work which was around £4,000.
We removed the boiler and its cupboard, installing a new combi boiler in a cupboard we created in the adjacent bedroom.
In many bathrooms we renovate, the bath and shower waste pipes are initially run on the surface above the floor—a lazy method. We removed the raised floor and carpets, then rerouted the waste pipes under the floor, ensuring the correct fall.
As this was the only bathroom in the house and shared by young children, we built a mini wall to shield the WC from view. We made the wall wider to allow for much needed additional storage.
The wall tiles were mitred on the edges, which added approximately £1000 to the labor costs due to the time-consuming nature of the work.
